Forest School First Aid + Forest School Programme Qualifications

Forest School First Aid For Forest School Leader Groups - 16 hours

The Forest School First Aid course is designed to meet the specific needs of Forest Schools Practitioners. Forest Schools Practitioners are required to hold an appropriate first aid certificate which has additional elements of outdoor and paediatric first aid.

MWS First Aid is approved by ITC First Awarding Organisation to deliver an appropriate Forest Schools First Aid course that is fit for purpose. MWS First Aid staff are now listed on the Forest School First Aid Provider register.  This is the only register which lists the trainers that can deliver ITC Forest School First Aid training.  Tailored training that is totally integrated with the Forest School ethos and rationale.

MWS is able to offer the delivery of this course by an active and qualified Forest School Leader.

  • This course is not just an Outdoor First Aid course with some paediatric elements.  It is a bespoke course with the 'Early Years' setting in mind. It includes a significant proportion of child related issues.
  • The course is 16 hours and is in keeping with the requirements of other outdoor national governing bodies.
  • This course prepares candidates to deal with incidents in the outdoors and in remote settings.
  • Adult and child content
  • Course content includes child CPR, drowning, child choking and common childhood illnesses (asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, anaphylaxis).
  • Also suitable for bushcraft first aid; survival first aid; woodland first aid; wilderness first aid; Scouts and Duke of Edinburgh Award leaders.
