HSE Emergency First Aid at Work (6 hours)

Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
/live/courses/FA Course.jpgEmployers have to risk assess their workplace first aid requirements. The 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification is one of the statutory qualifications for this purpose.  The content is prescribed by the HSE and all candidates must attend the entire 6-hours contact time in order to fulfill the qualification 'license to practice' requirement.

Meeting the assessment criteria leads to the ITC Level 2 Certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work

Course Duration
1 - day (normally 6 hours).  Can be delivered in any reasonable combination of hours  e.g. 2 hours per week

Rationale
With modern mobile communication, modern emergency service response times and the changing face of UK employment from a manufacturing to a service economy, first aid need have changed. If the risk assessment is that employees may be faced with life-threatening incidents where they have to manage the casualty for 10 minutes, or very minor incident that will not require medical assistance, then the EFAW is the course that meets the criteria.

If further first aid training is required the employer can have employees training in the full FAW (first aid at work) qualification over 3-days..

EFAW 6-hour programme
